By InsideHoops.com | Mar. 12, 2006
Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest has fit in nicely with his new team, averaging 17.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.4 steals in the 20 games since being traded from the Indiana Pacers. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner recently met up with Artest for a quick, exclusive interview.
InsideHoops.com: How has the adjustment to the Kings been?
Ron Artest: It's been tough. Moving from Indiana. Moving the family down. Trying to get my kids adjusted, getting my wife adjusted to the place. Finally moving into the home -- I was staying in a hotel for a while. And that was kind of hard.
InsideHoops.com: Living out of a suitcase for a while.
Ron Artest: Exactly, living out the suitcase, going to practice, going back to the hotel. It was kind of difficult at first.
InsideHoops.com: How long did it take for you to finally get settled?
Ron Artest: I finally got into my own apartment. I'm comfortable now, which is cool.
InsideHoops.com: And on the court, since you arrived I think the team has become more and more like a team. Winning more, but even when losing, looking more like a real threat.
Ron Artest: I think everybody's focused on winning. Everybody really wants to try to get into the playoffs. Guys have confidence in each other. It's a blessing that we got Bonzi Wells back. So we should be fine for a long time.
InsideHoops.com: What's up with the record label, anything new?
Ron Artest: It's doing good. Album is going to come out in July.
InsideHoops.com: Whose, your album?
Ron Artest: My album.
InsideHoops.com: Got some good guest stars on it?
Ron Artest: Mike Jones is the only guest star right now.
