Toronto Raptors sign Maceo Baston to offer sheet

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have signed former Raptor and restricted free agent forward Maceo Baston to an offer sheet. Per team policy, contract terms were not disclosed. Under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, the Indiana Pacers have seven days from receipt to match the Raptors’ offer.
Baston, 6-foot-10, 230 pounds is a veteran of two NBA seasons and six years overseas, where he teamed with current Raptor Anthony Parker to lead Maccabi Tel Aviv to three Israeli Premier League championships (2004-06) and two Euroleague title (2004 and 2005). He appeared in 47 games with Indiana last season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds. He topped the Pacers in field goal percentage at .645 (49-76). He posted a season-best 14 points and eight rebounds at New Jersey on January 15.
Baston played in 16 games with Toronto at the end of the 2002-03 season, averaging 2.6 points while shooting .600 per cent (15-25) from the field and .833 per cent (10-12) from the free throw line. In 63 career NBA games, he has shot .634 per cent from the field and .797 per cent at the foul line.
Baston averaged 14.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in his Premier League play with Maccabi and 13.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in Euroleague action. In the 2004-05 season, he shot .682 per cent from the field in the Premier League and .764 per cent in the Euroleague.
