Raptor Chris Bosh out with sprained thumb
Raptors News | Mar. 28, 2006
The Toronto Raptors announced Tuesday that all-star forward Chris Bosh is expected to miss an indefinite period of time with a sprained left thumb. Bosh suffered the injury at the 5:11 mark of the first quarter in Sunday’s game at Milwaukee.
Bosh had the injury examined Monday by Toronto hand specialist Dr. Brent Graham. He will be reevaluated by Raptors team physician Dr. Paul Marks in a week to 10 days to determine timing for a return to basketball.
Bosh has appeared in all 70 games, averaging a team-best 22.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 39.3 minutes. He has led the team in scoring 37 times, in rebounds on 46 occasions and in double-doubles with 32. He is the only player in the NBA to average more than 22 points and shoot better than 50 per cent from the field and 80 per cent from the foul line.
Bosh has missed only eight games during his three NBA seasons – seven in his rookie campaign (three with a sprained right ankle and four with a sprained right knee) and one last season with a bruised lower back.
