76ers waive Rick Brunson

Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the team has waived guard Rick Brunson. With the transaction, the Sixers roster stands at 15 players.
Signed by the Sixers as a free agent on Sept. 28, 2006, Brunson appeared in five preseason games for the Sixers and averaged 1.0 point, 2.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per game.
For his career, Brunson has played with nine different teams, Portland (1997-99, 2001-02), New York (1998-2000, 2000-01), Boston (2000), Chicago (2002-03, 2003-04), Toronto (2003), LA Clippers (2004-05), Seattle (2005-06), Houston (2006) and Philadelphia (2006). He has career averages of 3.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 337 games (51 starts).
InsideHoops.com Editor Says: There go Philly's championship hopes. But seriously, history suggest someone will sign Brunson, for at least part of the season. If not, I'll sign him for the Inside Hoops rec league team.
