Jose Calderon Injury Update: He's OK
InsideHoops.com NewsWire | Dec. 17, 2006
A scary scene in Toronto resulted in a much better than expected outcome.
During Sunday's 120-115 win over the Golden State Warriors in Air Canada Center, Jose Caledron fell, lay on the court, was examined, and taken out on a stretcher, tightly strapped down, wearing a neck brace, with his head surrounded by support.
He was examined in the Raptors locker room before being transported to a local hospital for further tests. Those tests suggested a soft tissue injury with no significant underlying bone, neurological or major organ damage. He has a contusion to his left lower back, which is not a major injury.
Calderon’s playing status is day-to-day. He did not accompany the team on its flight to Phoenix after the game. The Raptors open a four-game road trip against the Suns on Tuesday.
In his second year with the Raptors, Calderon is averaging 6.4 points, 3.1 assists and 16.9 minutes in 24 games with the 10-14 Raptors.
