Celtics hire Kevin Eastman as assistant coach

The Boston Celtics announced today that Kevin Eastman has re-joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Eastman first joined Head Coach Doc Rivers’ staff in September, 2004, as an assistant coach.
Eastman, who brings over 22 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, spent the last year as Nike Basketball’s National Director of Skill Development, while also owning and conducting Kevin Eastman Basketball Camps since 1999.
Eastman spent five seasons from 1994-1999 as head coach at Washington State University. Prior to spending four seasons as head coach at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he was an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa for the 1989-90 season. Eastman served as head coach and athletic director at Belmont Abbey College from 1986-1989. He spent his second stint as an assistant coach at the University of Richmond for the 1985-86 season, after tenure with Virginia Commonwealth from 1983-85, and Colorado State University from 1980-83. Eastman began his coaching career as an assistant for his alma mater the University of Richmond from 1978-80.
Eastman is a 1978 graduate of Richmond, where he played his collegiate basketball. Eastman also earned his Masters Degree in Athletic Administration at the same institution in 1989.
