EBC Playoffs

The final four teams in the 2003 EBC Playoffs at Rucker Park are Terror Squad, S. Carter, Fubu and So So Def. Here's how it went down Wednesday night as the final four became the final two. Only on InsideHoops.com will you read this.

2003 EBC FINAL FOUR:

S.CARTER vs. SO SO DEF

S.Carter (in red) has Jamal "True Essence" Crawford, Sebastian "2 Fast 2 Furious" Telfair, John "The Franchise" Strickland, Reggie "High Five" Freeman, Shawnelle Scott, Dontae Jones, Smush Parker, Brian Reece and role players. Telfair had another engagement and had to arrive late.

So So Def (in purple with yellow trim) stars Ol' Black Magic and usually The Maniac, but Maniac missed the game, leaving OBM and role players to try to pull off a win.

This game is a mismatch.

With a little over 6 minutes left in the first half, Sebastian Telfair made it to the park to join S. Carter.

S. Carter up 38-21 at the start of the second half.

Jamal Crawford put on a great show. The InsideHoops.com play of the game was a S. Carter fast break with no defenders back that ended with Jamal Crawford taking the ball, jumping, putting the ball underneath his leg and throwing it off the backboard, jumping high and dunking it hard. A through-the-legs, off-the-backboard self-alley-oop. Awesome.

With around 8 minutes to go it was an 11 point game. Still competitive.

Reggie Freeman also did big work, as did John Strickland and Sebastian Telfair.

Ol' Black Magic is awesome. Watch him at Pitt next season as a sophomore.

S. Carter held onto their lead and won. They're in the finals.

FUBU vs. TERROR SQUAD (defending champs)

Terror Squad (in green with yellow trim), coached by Mousey, has Stephon "Starbury" Marbury, Rafer "Skip to my Lou" Alston, Al Harrington, Kareem "Best Kept Secret" Reed, Zach Marbury, Dontae Jones (Duke), Adrian "Who Lotta Game, aka A-Butter" Walton

Fubu (light blue) has Theo Ratliff, and was supposed to have Ron Artest but he wasn't there today. They also have Julius Hodge, and a talented player nicknamed Anti-freeze.

Hannibal, an announcer, called tonight (the final four) "The Eve of Destruction" and called tomorrow (championship game) "Judgement Day."

The second play of the game was Al Harrington taking the ball baseline, spinning, and dunking the ball extremely hard right on another defender's head. Harrington landed and flexed while running back down the court. A possible play of the game, right off the bat.

Julius is bringing it. As is Anti-Freeze.

With around 10 minutes left in the first half, an alley-oop was thrown off an inbounds pass to Stephon Marbury, who got up high and dunked it.

Rafer Alston ran a fast break, bounced the ball a final time, clapped his hands together, and touch-passed to a teammate who was unable to finish the play, but Al Harrington flew down the middle for a put-back dunk.

Anti-freeze is penetrating and putting up these high-floating teardrop shots that keep going in.

Terror Squad is up at the half, 42-34.

Theo Ratliff is having a tough time fitting into this style of play.

With 11 minutes to go, Terror Squad is up 57-43.

Fubu can't contain Al Harrington or Stephon Marbury.

The announcers are yelling "Too much terror" over and over.

The InsideHoops.com EBC play of the night, and in essense of the entire playoffs so far, was at the very end of the game. Skip to my Lou ran a fast break right down the middle of the court, pulling out all the stops, dancing, faking, and "skipping" before passing to a teammate who completed the layup. The crowd went absolutely bonkers, and Stephon Marbury celebrated the play by doing a mock skip-dance all the way back down the court. It was glorious.

Terror Squad won. They're in the finals.

2003 EBC Championship: S. Carter vs. Terror Squad
