Jazz trade three players to Warriors for Derek Fisher

The Golden State Warriors have acquired guards Devin Brown, Keith McLeod and Andre Owens from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Derek Fisher, it was announced today by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin.
Brown, 27, has appeared in 216 regular-season games over four seasons with San Antonio, Denver and Utah, averaging 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17.0 minutes per contest. In 81 games last season for the Jazz (14 starts), he averaged a career-high 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in a career-high 21.1 minutes per contest. After going undrafted out of Texas-San Antonio in the 2002 NBA Draft, the 6-5, 220 pound guard split the 2002-03 season between the NBA (10 games with San Antonio and Denver) and the NBA Developmental League, where he averaged 16.9 points per game for the Fayetteville (N.C.) Patriots and was named the 2003 NBDL MVP. The Ogden, Utah, native appeared in 125 games over the next two seasons (2003-04 & 2004-05) with San Antonio, while also appearing in 21 playoff games – including six games in the 2004-05 NBA Finals, where he averaged 1.8 points per game for the eventual NBA Champions.
McLeod, 26, has appeared in 152 games over three seasons with Minnesota and Utah, averaging 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 19.8 minutes per contest. In 66 games last season for the Jazz (32 starts), he averaged 5.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.7 minutes per contest. The Jazz posted a 19-13 record in the 32 games in which he started at point guard. After going undrafted out of Bowling Green in the 2002 NBA Draft, the 6-2, 190 pound Canton, Ohio, native played in the USBL, the CBA and in Italy before signing as a free agent with the Timberwolves during the 2003-04 campaign.
Owens, 25, appeared in 23 games (two starts) during his rookie season with the Jazz in 2005-06, averaging 3.0 points in 9.1 minutes per contest. The 6-4, 200 pound guard missed the final 36 games of the season following surgery to repair a stress fracture, left tibia. The Indianapolis native signed as a rookie free agent with the Jazz prior to the season after going undrafted out of the University of Houston.
Fisher, 31, appeared in 156 games (68 starts) with Golden State over the past two seasons, averaging 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.29 steals in 30.8 minutes per contest. The 10-year NBA veteran has appeared in 700 career regular-season games, averaging 8.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.08 steals in 25.3 minutes. Prior to signing with the Warriors as a free agent on July 16, 2004, he spent the first eight seasons of his career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
