Kevin Garnett Quotes

On Friday, April 6, the Minnesota Timberwolves visited New York and beat the Knicks 99-94. The Wolves had a big lead but gave it up before coming away with the win. Here's what Kevin Garnett said after the game:
On why the Timberwolves often give up big leads:
Kevin Garnett: I have not figured it out, as to why we can't duplicate halfs, especially when we have halfs like we did tonight. A half where we got basically anything we wanted just because we moved the ball, shared the ball. Two totally different halfs.
On if it's progress that the Wolves at least didn't give up the lead and built it back up again after giving it up:
KG: It's progress. But the big key is being consistent. Having some consistency. That's been our biggest dilemma the whole year.
On being vocal to his teammates while he was on the bench taking a rest:
KG: When you're playing with young guys and you're trying to get certain things done, I'm like the quarterback... I try to relay what [Randy Wittman] wants, understand his philosophies his stuff. So I try to relay that out on the floor.
On the Knicks having lost a lot of games in their own building while fighting to make the playoffs:
KG: It's not easy. I think you guys think the playoffs, and good players, on a team in a great city, is [automatically] a success. But chemistry, bond has to be there, on the court, presence of mind, communication between all guys on the floor... I don't know the current situation here [in New York].
On how to make a playoff run. Note that KG is responding to a question about the Knicks, not the Wolves:
KG: When you're making a playoff run, you have to have experienced guys, guys that have been there. Leaders. Vocal leaders. You have to have a team that wants to be a team, too.
On if the Timberwolves would be in first place if they played in the Eastern conference:
KG: That's not reality, though. That's not our reality. I wish it was, but it's not.
