Ben Gordon Mini-Interview
By InsideHoops.com | Sept. 7, 2006
The Chicago Bulls had a big off-season, adding Ben Wallace to their frontcourt. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner recently grabbed a quick 30-second exclusive interview with Bulls scoring guard Ben Gordon, who recently helped coach some of the Elite 24 Hoops Classic players. This was the day before the world basketball championship USA-Greece game. Here's what BG said:
InsideHoops.com: You guys got Ben Wallace. Huge addition. Talk about getting him.
Ben Gordon: It's a great addition. He's pretty much the epitome of what our team is about: defense and rebounding. He's been the best defender and one of the best rebounders in the league the past five years or so. Adding him, he's going to give us a winning presence down low and he's going to have an impact for us right away.
InsideHoops.com: Been watching the world championship tournament?
Ben Gordon: Yeah, definitely been watching. I wish them the best of luck against Greece and hopefully they'll win against either Spain or Argentina.
InsideHoops.com: And have you kept an eye on your man Kirk Hinrich?
Ben Gordon: Definitely. I think Kirk's been great for them, just because of his defensive presence. He's been able to come in and change the games on that end of the floor and I think that's why he's so vital to their success.
InsideHoops.com: What's the next evolution in your game? The next step for you.
Ben Gordon: Hopefully winning a championship. I'm still going to do the same things, make plays on the offensive end, but hopefully with the addition of guys like Ben Wallace we can get closer and closer to winning a championship.
