Clippers sign Jason Hart, cut Will Conroy

The Los Angeles Clippers today signed free agent guard Jason Hart, it was announced by Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. The Clippers will be Hart’s fifth NBA team, as the point guard was placed on waivers by the Sacramento Kings on March 1.
A six-year NBA veteran, Hart appeared in 13 games with Sacramento this season, averaging 3.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 7.7 minutes per game. He played in 66 games in 2005-06 in his first season with the Kings, averaging 3.3 points and 1.1 assists.
The 6-3, 185 pound point guard enjoyed his best professional season in 2005-06 with Charlotte, appearing in 74 games and averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game. After signing with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent on Dec. 19, 2001, Hart played in 63 games for San Antonio over two seasons from 2001-2004. The former Syracuse University star began his NBA career with Milwaukee after the Bucks drafted him with the 49th selection of the second round in the 2000 NBA Draft. Hart played in one game with the Bucks during his rookie season. Hart has played in a combined 12 playoff games with the Spurs (2003-04) and Kings (2005-06).
Hart also spent 12 games with the Asheville Altitude of the NBA Development League during the 2001-02 season, averaging 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
At Syracuse, Hart finished his four-year collegiate career averaging 11.4 points per game and was an All-Big East First Team selection as a senior in 1999-2000. Hart is also Syracuse’s all-time leader in steals (329). A Los Angeles native, Hart attended Inglewood High School.
Hart will be in uniform and available for tonight’s game vs. San Antonio.
In a related move, the Clippers released guard Will Conroy. Conroy was signed to a 10-day contract on February 28, 2007 and averaged 4.0 assists in two games played with the Clippers.
