Raptors release Luke Jackson
InsideHoops.com NewsWire | Oct. 29, 2007
The Toronto Raptors announced Monday their roster for Wednesday’s regular-season opener versus the Philadelphia 76ers at Air Canada Centre. In accordance with league rules, all teams were required to reduce their training camp rosters to a maximum of 15 players by 6 p.m. today. The Raptors released forward Luke Jackson today to reach the league limit.
Each team is required to carry 12 players on its active list and one player on its inactive list. Teams may have a maximum of three players on its inactive list. There is no injured list - a player’s designation can be changed from inactive to active on a game-to-game basis. Players sent to the NBA Development League will continue to count on a team’s inactive list.
The upcoming campaign marks Toronto’s 13th season in the NBA. They captured their first divisional title in team history last season winning the Atlantic Division with a franchise high-tying 47-35 record.
The Raptors will start the season at home for the ninth time in franchise history. They hit the road for the first time in 2007-08 on Friday when they visit the New Jersey Nets at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Raptors finished the preseason with a 5-2 record. They won their final three preseason games by an average of 25.7 points.
