76ers sign second rounder Bobby Jones
Sixers News | July 9, 2006
Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the Sixers have signed 2006 second round draft pick Bobby Jones. Per team policy, terms of the contract are not disclosed.
The Sixers acquired the draft rights to Jones (37th overall selection) from Minnesota in exchange for the 76ers second round draft pick in the 2007 NBA Draft and cash considerations. A 6-foot-7, 211-pound forward from University of Washington, Jones played four seasons with the Huskies and averaged 9.8 points in 125 career games. Jones earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors as a senior and finished his collegiate career as the 20th all-time leading scorer in Washington history with 1,226 career points.
Jones will participate in the Sixers Mini-Camp (July 10-13) in preparation for the 2006 Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 14-21.
