Minor League Basketball
Minor League Hoops | On InsideHoops.com
Minor league basketball in the United States is a big drop-off from the NBA, but plenty of talented players can be found. The majority of good players in the better minor basketball leagues enjoy successful overseas careers, and a handful each season manage to latch onto an NBA team, at least for a 10-day deal, if not for the season. And of course there have been plenty of minor league basketball stars who worked their way up into the NBA and never looked back.

NBA D-League - The NBDL, the only minor league directly affiliated with the NBA, features the best talent. We have near daily coverage of it during the actual season.
Continental Basketball Association (CBA) - The CBA, which has been around for a very long time, is being reorganized because several teams left, with new ones coming in. The league had 8 teams in the 2005-06 season.
United States Basketball League (USBL) - The USBL is one of the only American minor basketball leagues that plays during the summer. The season runs May through June. There are 8 teams in the 2006 season.
American Basketball Association (ABA) - The ABA seems to want to expand as much as possible, with 54 teams expected to play in the 2006-07 season. Note that this relatively new league is different from the original ABA from decades ago.
International Basketball League (IBL) - The IBL is just a few years old and features fewer timeouts and quicker inbounds plays. There should be about 30 IBL teams in the 2007 season.
World Basketball Association (WBA) - The WNBA focuses more on young players than some other leagues. Their teams are almost all in the Southeast.
