Hornets trade Bostjan Nachbar to Nets
Nets News | Feb. 23, 2006
The New Jersey Nets have acquired forward Bostjan Nachbar from the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets in exchange for forwards Marc Jackson and Linton Johnson III and cash considerations, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.
“This trade potentially provides the Nets with flexibility and gives us a player in Nachbar who can be a positive contributor off the bench,” said Thorn.
The 6-8 Nachbar was selected by the Houston Rockets in the First Round (15th pick) of the 2002 NBA Draft. A native of Slovenia, Nachbar played in 25 games this season for the Hornets, averaging 5.0 points and 2.0 rebounds. Nachbar has career marks of 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 155 games.
The 6-10 Jackson was acquired by the Nets from Philadelphia on August 9, 2005. He appeared in 37 games for the Nets this season, averaging 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
The 6-8 Johnson was signed as a free agent on September 1, 2005. He appeared in nine games this season, averaging 1.2 points and less than one rebound per contest.
