INTRODUCTION

InsideHoops.com, the largest and most popular pro basketball web site on the internet, invites you to contribute articles. If you're a fan, we're happy to post fan editorials. If you're a freelancer or aspiring writer, contributing to InsideHoops.com is the smartest thing you can do to promote yourself and be read by lots of people. And if you're a professional, use InsideHoops.com to say what your newspaper/magazine doesn't give you the space to say. Whether you contribute one article or want to be involved on a regular basis, as long as you know your stuff and can put a paragraph together, there's a place for you on this website.

MORE ABOUT INSIDEHOOPS.COM

InsideHoops.com is the largest and most popular pro basketball web site in existence. We began in 1999. Our editor is a famous basketball writer who is constantly used as a source in newspapers and is regularly interviewed on top sports radio stations. The InsideHoops.com staff is small and exclusive, and made up of top experts. But our network of contributors to the website is massive, and can include you.

InsideHoops.com is regularly featured in top magazines. Way back in 2000, Sports Illustrated called us "a haven for pro basketball junkies." A few years ago, Forbes named us "Best of the Web" for basketball. Also a few years ago, Yahoo Internet Life praised our NBA rumors page. USA Weekend - the magazine insert in USA Today, plugged InsideHoops.com. And in March of 2005, Newsweek magaine called our analysis "clever" and singled InsideHoops.com out as the basketball site to visit.

InsideHoops.com is regularly used as a source in newspapers. These are just a few of the top newspapers that have mentioned InsideHoops.com or used us as a source in the last few years: New York Times (their Sunday magazine), Boston Globe, Arizona Republic, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Toronto Sun, Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret Morning News, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and countless others.

InsideHoops.com is regularly heard on top radio stations. Countless sports stations refer to InsideHoops.com for information. And InsideHoops.com has been interviewed on WFAN in New York, ESPN radio in multiple cities, ABC radio in Detroit, BBC radio heard worldwide, Team Radio around Canada, and dozens of other top stations.

InsideHoops.com is the leader in what we do.

There are many basketball sites. There is only one InsideHoops.com. We are a proven, professional name. Each day, tens of thousands of basketball fans, along with lots of writers, players, league employees and people who work in sports and entertainment hit InsideHoops.com.

InsideHoops.com mostly covers the NBA. We do also cover top events in college and high school basketball, streetball, the WNBA, smaller leagues like the NBDL, CBA and USBL, and international basketball. We're always growing and expanding our coverage.

YOU CAN BE INVOLVED WITH INSIDEHOOPS.COM

Everyone with a basketball brain can get involved with InsideHoops.com. If you're a fan with something to say, you're invited to contribute a fan editorial. If you're an aspiring writer, contributing to InsideHoops.com is the smartest thing you can do to get your name out there. Freelancers are also invited to use InsideHoops.com as the ultimate tool for promoting yourself. And professional writers who simply want to voice something their current employer doesn't give them the space for are invited to be a part of what we've built here.

Joining the actual InsideHoops.com staff is reserved only for top professionals. Anyone using the actual InsideHoops.com name in the media world covers basketball for a full-time living and is a proven, trusted expert. But there is plenty of room on this ship for "fan correspondents" as well as contributors from all corners of the basketball world. Have an idea for a column? Propose it to us. If you're professional, we'll present it as professional content. If you're a fan, that's cool; we'll let everyone know that an educated fan has something to say.

Bottom line, whether you just love basketball, or you make a living that somehow involves it, there's a place for you on InsideHoops.com.

And, if you have a column, a book, a service or anything to plug, or you just want to get your name out there, have a place to showcase your views, or increase your chances of getting hired, you can do it at the end of your article. That's right, "free" promotion, in exchange for your content.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO INSIDEHOOPS.COM

1. Write an article. It can be a quick five-paragraph take on something, or a giant masterpiece. Everything good is welcome.

2. Take a minute to spell-check your article. And take another minute to make it tight. Get rid of extra words. If something can be said in four words, don't take 12 to say it. When possible, we're happy to not edit a word of what you say.

3. Paste your article directly into an email. We don't want to open attachments. Don't worry about the formatting. We'll handle it. Just type it correctly, make sure the paragraphs are clear, and we'll do the rest.

Send to: submit99@insidehoops.com (remove the "99")

Note that the address sometimes changes. Check this page should email bounce back.

4. After you email an article, a Contribution Agreement will be sent to you. It asks you to confirm that the article is your original content and that you're giving it to InsideHoops.com. You're also asked your real name, and credit name + byline (if you want one).

When you receive the Contribution Agreement, simply hit "Reply" to it and type your answers right into the agreement, and send. We need the entire thing emailed back along with the answers. Not just the answers.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

We can't post everything we receive. And, once in a while, we do receive good articles that for some unknown reason don't make it onto the site. If you sent something great, please remind us that we have it. We do get a lot of e-mail.

Original content only. If your article has already appeared on other websites (what a silly mistake that would be!) then we don't want it. Unless it's your own homepage or something. Then you are still invited to send it to us.

IF YOU'VE WRITTEN A BOOK

If you're an author and want to contribute parts of a book or something that you own the rights to, want to give us some content to post, but you still need to retain rights to the content, that's fine. Just explain the situation to us and we'll accommodate.

YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE CONTENT YET KEEP THE RIGHTS TO IT

In special cases, if you have written something that you cannot give us the rights to own, but you can still arrange for us to receive reprint permission, that's cool. Just explain the situation to us. We're easy to work with.

BASKETBALL TOPICS TO WRITE ABOUT
