NBDL Tryouts
NBDL Basketball Tryout Info / Updated Oct. 1, 2004
UPDATED NBDL TRYOUT INFO COMING AUGUST 5, 2006
The NBA’s National Basketball
Development League is looking for the overlooked, the diamond in the rough, that
one-in-a-million undiscovered player with the ability to take his game
to
the next level. To facilitate that search, NBDL teams are holding local
tryout camps in October to find the best players that nobody has ever
heard
of…yet.
Local NBDL tryouts are being sponsored by each of the six NBDL teams in
October.
With league approval, players from each local NBDL tryout could be invited to
take part in team training camps that get underway in each NBDL city on
November 8.
Registration fees for NBDL basketball tryouts vary from team to team, but the pre-registration fee
guarantees a spot for players on the first day of the local tryout camp.
Prospective players should contact any or all of the six NBDL teams for
specific registration information.
Following are the basics of each NBDL local tryout camp. Please click on
each team’s website or call the teams for more specific information
about local tryout opportunities.

The NBDL, the NBA’s minor league, includes the Fayetteville Patriots
(N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Roanoke
Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.) and Asheville Altitude (N.C.).
The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a
highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA’s umbrella. Twenty-eight (28)
players have been called up the NBA on 39 separate occasions. Seven
former NBDL coaches, five athletic trainers, six referees and 28 front office
executives have also been called up since the start of the league’s
inaugural season in November 2001.
Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and
internationally, the league also offers fun, family entertainment at
affordable prices. The NBDL is a source of on-court talent for the NBA’s
30 teams and is a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by
training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales
and marketing positions.
