Patrick O'BryantThe Golden State Warriors have recalled rookie center Patrick O’Bryant from the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today.

O’Bryant, 20, has appeared in 25 games overall this season in three stints with the Jam, averaging 12.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.88 blocks in 29.6 minutes per contest. Over the last eight games, since being re-assigned to the Jam for the third and final time this season on March 8, the 7’0’’ center has averaged 14.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.75 blocks in 29.3 minutes per contest. During his latest assignment, O’Bryant shot 54.7% (47-86 FG) from the field and went 18-for-18 from the free throw line. Additionally, he grabbed 10-or-more rebounds six times and posted four double-doubles over the last eight games.

Overall with Golden State this season, O’Bryant has appeared in 16 games, averaging 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest.

O’Bryant is the first Warriors player to be assigned to the D-League since the current affiliation system began during the 2005-06 season. Under the system, NBA teams can assign up to two players who are rookies or in their second season to their D-League affiliate. Players can stay with the D-League team for as long as the team wishes, and be recalled back to the NBA at any time. However, a player can only be sent to the D-League a maximum of three times during the season.
