Chris Paul out at least four weeks with sprained ankle
InsideHoops.com NewsWire | Dec. 29, 2006
The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets announced today that guard Chris Paul will miss a minimum of four weeks after an MRI administered Thursday showed a severe right ankle sprain. Paul originally suffered the injury in Tuesday night’s loss at Seattle.
“The injury to Chris is unfortunate, especially in light of the fact that we’ve been without three of our top players in Peja Stojakovic, David West and Bobby Jackson for an extended period,” said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. “But despite our injury troubles, credit is due to Coach Scott and our players for the resiliency and toughness they’ve shown through this stretch.”
Stojakovic has missed 15 games (back surgery), while West has missed 21 games (right elbow synovitis) and Jackson (cracked left rib) has missed 13 games. Jackson is expected to return within the next two weeks while Stojakovic and West remain out indefinitely.
