Sean Williams Mini-Interview
By InsideHoops.com | Oct. 27, 2007
New Jersey Nets rookie Sean Williams attended Boston College, had issues that led to removal from the team, but now finds himself in a terrific position to learn from some top-notch teammates. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner met with Williams a few days ago (before Kidd played his first preseason game) for a quick, exclusive mini-interview.
InsideHoops.com: Your're new to the NBA, and it's early to ask this, but what are your impressions of the team?
Sean Williams: Just trying to get in where I fit in. This is a first class organization. They expect the very best. I'm just trying to learn from the veterans on the team, and the examples they set. And be the best professional I can.
InsideHoops.com: Which skills of yours would you say are NBA-ready right now?
Sean Williams: I'm just going to try to come in and bring energy. Be active on the boards. Play defense. Run the court.
InsideHoops.com: Talk about the big three on your squad, Kidd, Carter and Jefferson. Again, it's still early and you're just getting to know them, but what'
s it like so far?
Sean Williams: Wow... Wow! J-Kidd hasn't played in any preseason games yet, but watching him play with Vince and Richard, it's special. Those dudes, you know you're going to get those stats every night from them. Just learn from their consistency. Try to learn, take some of what they do and add it to your game.
InsideHoops.com: And glancing back at college for a second, when you were on the floor you did some special things. Do you have any favorite moments, shots, games, anything in particular that you like to look back on?
Sean Williams: (Grinning) I don't look back too much.
InsideHoops.com: Hah, OK. No one thing at all?
Sean Williams: (Grinning) I don't even remember.
