JR Smith to have knee surgery, out 3-4 weeks
InsideHoops.com NewsWire | Feb. 21, 2007
Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee in the second quarter of last night’s game against San Antonio. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee this afternoon and will be sidelined for approximately 3-4 weeks.
Smith has appeared in 42 games for the Nuggets this season, averaging a career-high 15.4 ppg and 2.5 rpg in 27.2 minutes. He leads the team in three-point field goals made with 114 (114-292/.390).
InsideHoops.com Editor Says: These injuries are unfair to the Nuggets. It'll be nice to see Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson, Smith and company all healthy out there, developing some winning chemistry.
