Knicks waive Maurice Taylor
InsideHoops NewsWire | Sept. 29, 2006
New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Isiah Thomas announced today that forward Maurice Taylor has been waived.
Taylor, 6-9, 265-pounds, averaged 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 18.1 minutes in 67 games for the Knicks last season.
InsideHoops.com Editor Says: Taylor was apparently owed about $9 million this season -- an outrageous sum of money for a player who is good but best suited coming off a bench. He's a wide power forward with a fine shot, but subpar rebounding ability. Anyway, Mo is talented and worth having as a reserve, and I expect several teams will consider signing him, provided his asking price is reasonable.
