Minnesota Timberwolves team notes as the team faces the Dallas Mavericks tonight:
Minnesota notched its second six-point triumph over the Clippers in four nights with Wednesday's 113-107 decision at
Staples Center; the Wolves had dealt L.A. a 112-106 setback last Sunday at Target Center… Minnesota has now beaten the Clippers
four straight times overall after dropping 16 of the previous 17 meetings.
The Wolves improve to 15-11 on the season, a half-game in
front of Denver (14-11) atop the Northwest; they're 4th in the West overall, three games back of San Antonio (18-8).
Minnesota is 12-5
vs. conference opponents, the top win total in West-only matchups; Houston (10-2) leads in winning percentage… The Wolves finished
each of the past two seasons 18-34 vs. Western rivals; they didn't record their 12th conference win a year ago until Feb. 24 vs. Dallas.
Minnesota kicked off its two-game road trip by falling 95-92 at Memphis on Monday, one night after the home victory vs. the Clippers.
The Wolves capped a two-game trip by falling 111-107 on Dec. 1 at Oklahoma City; the teams' three meetings this season (Minnesota
won the first two) have been decided by a total of nine points.
Minnesota closed out November with the 120-102 win Nov. 29 at New
Orleans, bookending the 104-98 triumph on Nov. 1 at the Smoothie King Center.
The Wolves ended the month at 9-6, equaling their
best victory total ever for November (9-4 in 2001-02).
The Wolves completed a 2-2 homestand with the 92-89 loss to Washington on
Nov. 28… The stand began with a 124-118 triumph over Orlando on Nov. 22 and continued with a 109-97 loss to Miami on Nov. 24;
Minnesota bounced back to defeat Phoenix 119-108 on Nov. 26, squaring a 118-110 loss on Nov. 11 in the desert.
