B-Real Cypress Hill Interview
By InsideHoops.com
B Real is the leader of Cypress Hill, one of the most
famous rap groups on the planet. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner met up
with him this summer and recorded this exclusive interview. Plenty more entertainment
features are on the way to the site blowing up like no other, Inside Hoops.
InsideHoops.com: What have you been up to these last few years, catch us
up on everything.
B Real of Cypress Hill: We've been putting together out own concerts back home in L.A., as far as festivals go, working on a new record right now that'll come out in February or March. We've just been working on a bunch of different projects besides that.
InsideHoops.com: Talk about changes in the hip-hop world you've seen over
the last few years, anything that's on your mind whether it be style or how it's
marketed or anything.
B Real of Cypress Hill: It's more diverse than it used to be. Everybody's been a bit more creative about what they're putting out there. It's just grown. There's all kinds of different genres of hip-hop. There's pop, there's hardcore, there's underground, there's consciousness, there's party, there's a little bit for everybody.
InsideHoops.com: What sh*t do you listen to, other than your own stuff
or whatever?
B Real of Cypress Hill: I like 50 Cent sh*t, I like Mob Deep, Jay-Z, pretty much... Busta Rhymez, those are all my favorite groups up in the one, you know.
InsideHoops.com: Anyone out there who isn't quite famous yet that you think
deserve more props than they currently get?
B Real of Cypress Hill: Umm...
InsideHoops.com: ...or should we stick with who you named...
B Real of Cypress Hill: Yeah pretty much. There hasn't really been anybody catching my eye too much lately. But those are the guys I listen to religiously.
InsideHoops.com: From the first album up till now, how has your perspective
on existing, living, etc. changed?
B Real of Cypress Hill: Well you know it's definitely easier a little bit as far as financially and all the other sh*t, but musically, there's a little bit more pressure because you got to top everything you've previously done.
InsideHoops.com: And remind us again about your new album.
B Real of Cypress Hill: We're going to be having new sh*t in February, tentatively titled The Green Album.
InsideHoops.com: Is the lineup in your crew the same?
B Real of Cypress Hill: Yeah, Sen Dog, DJ Muggs, Bobo and myself - B-Real.
